Leeds fans desperate to ruin Grealish’s Wembley party

[ad_pod ]

Leeds United fans on Twitter have been focusing on one man after they found out who they will be facing in the playoff final if they overcome Derby County in the semis.

Jack Grealish has been at the forefront of many Whites supporters’ minds after the two sides met last month.

The midfielder made a lasting impression on the spectators that day, but not for the right reasons. His alleged diving and theatrical style on the pitch has led to a lot of anger directed towards him from the Whites.

The Clarets’ talisman is one of the most talented players in the division, but his antics at Elland Road against Leeds clearly touched a nerve.

Now that Marcelo Bielsa’s side have a chance to set up a potential Wembley clash with Grealish and Co, United fans want to see the 23-year-old’s big day ruined.

Here’s what Leeds fans have been saying on Twitter…

Maryan Shved will surely be disappointed to see Celtic target Lys Mousset

[ad_pod ]

According to the Scottish Daily Mail, Celtic are exploring a potential summer move for Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset, but is a move that would surely disappoint new boy Maryan Shved.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the Scottish Daily Mail report that the Glasgow giants are keen to bring the former France U21 international north of the border, although they are reluctant to pay the £10m fee the Cherries would demand for the attacker.

The Scottish Dail Mail says that the Bhoys would prefer a players-plus-cash deal instead, as they are reluctant to break their transfer record on the 23-year-old.

According to Transfermarkt, Mousset has scored five goals in 71 appearances for the south coast outfit following a move from Le Havre in 2016, albeit the majority of those outings have come from the substitutes’ bench.

Shved will be disappointed

The 21-year-old has finally linked up with the Celtic squad this week following his move during the January transfer window, and he will be keen to hit the ground running next term.

Controversial. Uncompromising. Leader. C’mon the Hoops’ Keith talks the future of Celtic’s evergreen captain Scott Brown in the video below…

The winger has proven during his time with FC Karpaty that he is a goalscoring wide man, but he will surely want to boost his assists tally at Parkhead – he only provided four in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.

The Ukraine international will be expected to do a lot more in that regard if he is a regular starter on the flank for the Scottish Premiership holders, and he will be able to with the right striker/s in the box to feed.

Yes, the majority of Mousset’s outings for Bournemouth have come from the bench, but his record is far from impressive and doesn’t indicate that he is a regular goalscorer.

If Shved is creating chances he will want a centre-forward that he can rely on to put the ball in the back of the net, and the Frenchman simply doesn’t fit the bill.

The Chalkboard: Hastie’s arrival at Rangers could spell the end for Candeias

[ad_pod ]

Rangers play the final game of their Scottish Premiership season on Sunday but the gaze of Steven Gerrard and supporters is likely already on the new challenges that await in 2019/20.

Having already made a number of pre-contract signings, fans have something of an idea about how the Gers might line-up in the team’s earliest competitive matches and one player everyone is eager to see is Jake Hastie.

The Motherwell winger will join up with Gerrard’s squad for pre-season and he’ll be hoping he can get an opportunity to impress in upcoming European qualifiers.

Where will he fit in and can he displace the talent already at Ibrox?

On the chalkboard

Hastie’s pace and power are the main attributes that have caught everyone’s eye in his half-season in the Scottish Premiership and that’s principally what the Gers have been lacking at right wing for the last couple of years.

Bursting onto the Motherwell scene in January having spent time on loan at Alloa, the 20-year-old took the league by storm before speculation about his move to Rangers derailed performances somewhat.

The fact fans at Fir Park appear angry about his departure speaks volumes when it comes to his ability and potential.

Seven goals in 15 appearances for the Steelmen this term is compelling initial evidence that he can be a real success at Ibrox next season embedded in a more attacking and ambitious team.

The energy in and direct nature of his game will give Rangers a new dimension on the right flank, where Daniel Candeias has suffered inconsistent form throughout this season.

Candeias cancelled?

The Portuguese winger has been an effective signing at Rangers over the last two seasons and at times he has produced some joyous football that has made fans’ mouths water.

His problem though is reproducing that week upon week against all styles of opponent. He isn’t very versatile and his final ball delivery over the last few months has been pretty dire.

An accusation could be made that he slows Rangers down too much on the right side, often a little more patient with the ball than is necessary in the final third.

The explosive nature of Hastie could make his contribution obsolete, though it must be stressed that the youngster will need to find regular goals and assists, with Candeias providing a direct goal contribution of 18 this season.

There’s a case for the 31-year-old staying at the club beyond this summer, for depth reasons as much as anything, but Hastie’s arrival means he’s very much on notice and he must produce more exciting form if he wants to stay relevant at Ibrox.

"Sick of hearing this excuse for Ozil" – Arsenal fans slam Ian Wright’s defence of number 10

[ad_pod ]Arsenal fans on Twitter have refused to accept Ian Wright’s defence of Mesut Ozil after the German’s disappointing season at the Emirates.Despite signing a mammoth new £350,000 per week contract in January 2018, Ozil has struggled to establish himself this season under Unai Emery making 24 Premier League appearances and supplying just two assists.Emery made his uncertainty of Ozil’s place in the Arsenal side clear after dropping the number ten for November’s 2-1 victory at Bournemouth, stating that Ozil did not have the physicality or intensity needed for the difficult away trip to the Vitality Stadium. However, Arsenal legend Wright has come out in defence of the maligned attacking midfielder, stating that he has “no problem with Mesut Ozil earning what he is earning, because at the end of the day you need players around him that can bring the best out of him as well,” as quoted by The Mirror.Wright might have earned legendary status during his time in north London, but he has incurred the wrath of Arsenal supporters on Twitter who feel that Ozil has simply not done well enough.Check out the best of the reaction below!

West Ham fans on social media split on leaked kits

[ad_pod ]West Ham United fans have been left split over purported leaked kits being shared on social media by Twitter user West Ham Central.

With the Premier League season having drawn to a close and the Irons finishing 10th under manager Manuel Pellegrini, we have entered the season of kit launches.

And it appears that the Irons will be trialling a relatively new style of shirt in 2019-20.

If the leak is true, the Hammers will, of course, wear claret and blue at home, with the top half of the shirt being entirely blue, with claret shorts. This season, the club wore white shorts.

And the away kit will allegedly be an all-white number, with a claret and blue collar.

Supporters, naturally, have been left torn on the designs; some are in love with the away shirt, while others believe that the home kit needs some work.

Reece James is ready-made for Crystal Palace if they lose Aaron Wan-Bissaka

While the thought of losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka is gut-wrenching to say the least, hear us out.

Although Crystal Palace could be set to receive a cool £45 million for the 21-year-old, (as per The Daily Mail) the Eagles may be better off with another young, English full-back.

As a result of the uncertainty regarding Wan-Bissaka’s future, the name Reece James continues to be floated around Selhurst Park, as well as many other Premier League clubs. Indeed, Palace were linked by the Mail back in May and it’s easy to see why.

The England U20 international (who is valued at £900k on Transfermarkt) enjoyed a quality breakthrough season with Wigan in the Championship following his loan move to the DW Stadium.

That, in turn, has left plenty of sides wanting to take him from Chelsea once again this summer.

Whether the Blues will end up keeping James is unknown but after claiming Wigan’s Player of The Season, oh and not to forget Players’ Player of the Season as well, his stock is rising by the game.

Yes, it goes without saying, there is a gulf in class between the Championship and the Premier League but because James is such a confident, young player, there seem to be no worries about his ability to thrive in the top flight. The Blues themselves have previously been reported to value him enough to offer him a new deal (as per the Independent) so it’s clear to see he is highly rated.

Wan-Bissaka has been nothing short of brilliant since making his progression into the first-team, hence why it would be such a damaging loss for Crystal Palace.

The loss, though, would be somewhat dampened if the Eagles were able to bring in James because frankly, a defensive player that scores three goals and creates three assists in 45 Championship appearances is clearly a real star in the making.

Liverpool fans want van de Beek signed after Nations League showing

[ad_pod ]

Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the Nations League performance of Donny van de Beek, who has been tipped to sign for the Reds.

According to Dutch media outlet Voetbal Primeur, van de Beek could become a target for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool this summer.

The report is based around claims from analyst René van der Gijp, who says the Dutch international is the “perfect” midfield player for Klopp.

And reports from Le Parisien reckon the midfielder could be available for around €55m (£49m) this summer, so a switch to Anfield would certainly not be out of the question.

“The worst we’ve played all season” but “our most straightforward final since 2003” – a Liverpool fan reflects on the UCL final in the video below…

Fans like what they’ve seen of the 22 year-old too, as after scoring in Ajax’s 1-0 win against Tottenham in the Champions League he then bossed England in the Nations League on Thursday evening.

Despite playing just over 50 minutes including the extra-time, the youngster’s composure on the ball and ability to pop up in dangerous spaces created havoc for England’s defence, changing the game when he came off the bench.

You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where fans are now even more convinced than they were before that Klopp should take a gamble on the Dutch starlet…

Arsenal fans are praying the rumours about Ozil and Wenger come true

[ad_pod ]

Arsenal are in a sticky situation with Mesut Ozil and his massive contract, but according to InfoSportsTFLG on Twitter, Arsene Wenger is being looked at to take over Ligue 1 club OGC Nice. Should he get the job, Ozil would be his priority signing, the report claims.

At the moment, rumours are just rumours, but anything can happen in football and the Gunners are always going to take anything that claims they might be shipping £350,000 p/w (Spotrac) Ozil off the wage bill as brilliant news. The summer is long, though, so there will no doubt be plenty of twists and turns throughout the next few months.

In any case, with Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck all off the wage bill at the Emirates, the Gunners have made plenty of room for some new faces to be brought in, but Ozil would be the icing on the cake.

Wenger brought him to north London back in the summer of 2013, parting with £42.4m to do so (BBC), and it would only be fitting if the French gaffer was the man to end his Arsenal days too.

Arsenal fans frustrated as reports claim club will miss out on Markus Schubert signing

[ad_pod ]

Having seen Petr Cech retire at the end of the campaign and with David Ospina set to join Napoli, Arsenal only really have Bernd Leno and the returning Emiliano Martinez as their frontline goalkeepers.

Unai Emery’s side will be playing Europa League football once more next season and that will surely mean the side’s number two shot-stopper will get some very decent playing time.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested the Gunners had targeted Dynamo Dresden’s highly-rated star Markus Schubert to come in on a free transfer, but an update from German publication Bild now claims the goalkeeper will join Bundesliga side Schalke instead.

After hearing the news that the 21-year-old had potentially snubbed the north London side at the last moment, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations.

Many thought it was typical of the state of the club that even players on a free transfer were turning them down and simply admitted that this was just going to be another ‘near miss’.

Some even expressed their concern that having seen a month go by without the club making any significant moves in the transfer market, they were worried that it might be indicative of the whole summer and that they would struggle to get anyone in.

Check out some of the disappointed reaction of Arsenal fans below:

West Ham: Manuel Pellegrini will be mad to let Issa Diop walk this summer

When West Ham signed Issa Diop last summer for a then club-record fee, it raised the eyebrows of a few supporters and pundits, but 12 months later it has proven to be good business for the Hammers.

Diop starred in all but five games for West Ham last season and statistically (via WhoScored) the French defender was up there with some of the east London side’s best defensive players, ranking fifth in tackles won per game (2.1), second in interceptions won per game (1.9), and the ninth-lowest in fouls committed per game (0.5), but even with this in mind, it’s still surprising to believe the recent reports surrounding the centre-back.

There were a few surprised faces when Sky Sports News reported that Manchester United were interested in Diop this summer as the Red Devils aim to rebuild their defence after conceding the most goals out of anyone in the top-six last season, and although the West Ham defender would be an improvement on the likes of Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling looking at the stats, the Hammers should not entertain an offer from the Premier League giants for the 22-year-old.

Whilst the idea of selling a player they have only had for just a season for up to a reported £60 million seems financially incredible, Manuel Pellegrini would be crazy to allow a player of Diop’s proven quality and promising potential to leave for a quick payday.

Before his move to West Ham, Diop was a wanted man across Europe with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid all reported by Calcio Mercato as interested in the then Toulouse defender, and after beating some of the biggest clubs in Europe for the Frenchman’s signature, it will be seen as a wasted chase if the Hammers allow the 22-year-old to walk now.

With Diop, West Ham have a defender who can man their defence for years to come, and after such an impressive debut season in the Premier League, it will be wasteful for the club to sell off one of their key assets before he really got started.
