أكد ضياء السيد المدرب المساعد بالجهاز الفني لمنتخب مصر سابقًا أن حازم إمام عضو الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم كان يرغب في استمرار البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني للفراعنة السابق في منصبه.

وأعلن اتحاد الكرة تعيين إيهاب جلال مديرًا فنيًا لمنتخب مصر، خلفًا لكيروش.

وقال ضياء السيد خلال تصريحاته لبرنامج “النجوم في رمضان” عبر إذاعة الشباب والرياضة: “عاتبت حازم إمام بعد العودة من الكاميرون لأنه سأل عن دوري مع الجهاز الفني في وسائل الإعلام، ولكن أنا أعرف حازم جيدًا هو شخص نظيف وليس لديه أي أغراض شخصية”.

وتابع: “تكلمت مع حازم إمام في أمور كثيرة، هو يريد أن يفعل الكثير في كرة القدم، وللأسف لن يُساعده أحد، ومهموم بموضوع رخص المديرين الفنيين، لأن الموضوع غير منضبط لأن الرخص تخرج بنظام الساعات المعتمدة”.

وأضاف: “أعتقد أن كيروش كان يريد أن يستمر في منصبه، وحازم إمام جلس معه ورأى منظومة عمله، وأكد أن هذا المدرب سيريحنا 4 أو 5 سنوات قادمة بعد أن يعمل على خطته”.

وعن تدخل محمد صلاح في مهام الجهاز الفني ووضع تشكيل مصر رد ساخرًا: “هذا كلام غريب (هري)، هو الذي يضع تشكيل منتخب مصر ويختار الجهاز الفني ويعد الطعام للاعبين!”.

واختتم ضاحكًا: “ما يتردد عن وضع صلاح لتشكيل منتخب مصر (هري) لو كان صلاح يضغط لوضع تشكيل مُعين أو الدفع بلاعبين مُعينين لأنهم أصدقائه، لطلبت منه أن يضغط من أجل تعييني مديرًا فنيًا لمنتخب مصر بدلًا من إيهاب جلال”.

تحدث جسفالدو فيريرا المدير الفني لفريق الكرة الأول بنادي الزمالك، عن الفوز الذي حققه على حساب نظيره الاتحاد السكندري، بالجولة الخامسة عشر من عمر الدوري المصري الممتاز.

وقال فيريرا في تصريحات بالمؤتمر الصحفي عقب المباراة: “أهنيء فريق الاتحاد السكندري الذي يملك لاعبين مميزين، قدموا مباراة كبيرة بـ10 لاعبين فقط”.

واضاف: “يجب علينا الاجتهاد بشكل أكبر لمعالجة بعض الأمور، وقت العمل كان قليلًا، ومن الصعب أن نصل للشكل المطلوب في تلك الفترة القصيرة”.

وواصل: “فريق الاتحاد يملك خط هجوم كبير، وإذا لم ندافع بشكل جيد لما استطعنا تحقيق الفوز بالمباراة”.

وأردف: “لعبنا 7 مباريات في وقت قليل، ونحتاج وقت أطول لكي ننقل كل الأفكار الفنية للاعبين، وأهنيء اللاعبين على الفوز، قدمنا مباراة جيدة وحققنا فوزًا عادلًا أمام فريق قوي”.

وواصل: “ترتيب الاتحاد لا يعكس مستواه الفني، هو فريق جيد ويمتلك لاعبين جيدين”.

واستكمل: “أمامنا أشياء كثيرة سنجتهد خلال الفترة المقبلة لمعالجتها، منها إنهاء الهجمات بشكل أفضل، ومع الوقت ستكون الأمور أفضل”.

واستطرد: “الجبهة اليسرى قدمت مباراة جيدة، خصوصًا في الشوط الأول، وفي الشوط الثاني قمنا ببعض التعديلات الفنية”.

وأتم فيريرا: “كل لحظه في المباراة تكون مختلفة عن ما قبلها، في الشوط الثاني ركزنا على امتلاك الكرة أكثر، وهاجمنا بقوة أكبر من أجل تحقيق الانتصار”.

A number of Liverpool supporters have been reacting negatively to James Pearce’s update regarding Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe.

Jurgen Klopp and his Reds players are currently enjoying a breather, following a relentless season.

In the end, Liverpool’s campaign managed to finish in positive fashion, with a third-place finish sealed, despite so much going wrong throughout 2020/21.

Qualifying for next season’s Champions League is big financially for the Reds, but it also means top players are more likely to be keen on a move.

Two players who have been linked with joining Liverpool are Sancho and Mbappe – two of the most exciting young players in European football currently.

Unfortunately, The Athletic‘s Pearce has poured cold water on either player heading to Anfield, saying it has been ‘dismissed by senior club sources’.

What’s the word?

According to Sport Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka is on Spurs’ radar as they look to bolster their backline ahead of next season.

It’s thought that the German outfit could lose several of their best players after failing to qualify for the Champions League this term, and the north Londoners could clinch him for around €28m (£24m).

The Lilywhites’ current defensive options have flatted to deceive this year, with The Athletic suggesting that mistakes at the back have been a defining theme of Tottenham’s abysmal season.

Bye-bye Dier?

One name central to all their woes at the back is Eric Dier, considering he has started more league games (28) than fellow centre-backs Toby Alderweireld (24), Davinson Sanchez (16), and Joe Rodon (eight), as per WhoScored.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Alan Shearer lambasted the England international for his ‘big errors’ in Spurs’ defeat to Leeds United, going onto question his place in Gareth Southgate’s Euros squad.

During commentary for that game, Danny Mills labelled Dier a “defensive calamity”, and that merely echoes the thoughts of ex-Spurs midfielder and fellow talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara, who urged Jose Mourinho to axe the 27-year-old back in February as he “looks lost” in defence.

Clearly, things have not changed, but interestingly he has been linked with a summer exit – according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Mourinho wants to bring him to his new home at AS Roma.

Similarly, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie has tipped him to be sold by Spurs’ next manager, claiming to Football Insider that there’s “no place for him” at N17 anymore.

N’Dicka would be an ideal replacement, as he has emerged as a potential star in Frankfurt. The 6 foot 4 beast is not only dominant in the air, winning two aerial duels per game this season, but is equally adept with the ball at his feet, averaging an 84.4% passing accuracy. Crucially, he is a left-footer – a trait which is lacking in Spurs’ current centre-back pool.

His ability has been likened to Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, who is also left-footed and offers a pacy solution at centre-back.

The 21-year-old gem has hugely impressed his manager Adi Hutter, too. “I honestly have to say that I was surprised by his development. Evan has developed phenomenally,” the 51-year-old claimed, via Bundesliga.com. “He’s very attentive in the analysis of his own game. He’s very modest and always takes a lot on board.”

Former Eintracht Frankfurt star Alexander Schur believes that N’Dicka “shows no nerves” and “plays with great authority”, so that potentially suggests that he could be an improvement on the shaky Dier.

For £24m, it could be a very wise investment, and at the same time, Levy could well end Dier’s ongoing sticky situation in north London. The Tottenham chief must land N’Dicka for his next manager.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to qualify for a place in Europe next season with a win over Aston Villa this evening.

Interim manager Ryan Mason can guide his side to no worse than seventh place if they manage to clinch three points in North London and they head into kick-off on the back of a much-needed victory over Wolves last time out.

It leaves the 29-year-old caretaker with a lot to ponder, especially as there are a few injuries to contend with.

So, what sort of Spurs XI could we see tonight? Here’s our predicted line-up, as well as the latest team and injury news from N17…

Mason could make as many as three changes from Sunday’s victory.

In his pre-game press conference, the temporary boss hinted that Gareth Bale may not be fit to feature, whilst Ben Davies is still on the sidelines, so there is a decision to be made in attack – who joins Harry Kane and Heung-min Son?

There are a few contenders but we’re expecting Lucas Moura to get the nod over both Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn.

Mason will also have another big call to make on Dele Alli, who has now started three straight Premier League games for the very first time this campaign.

The 25-year-old playmaker is likely to remain in the no.10 role in an exciting front four.

Further back in midfield, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should keep up his record of starting every single top-flight game this term but there could be a huge temptation to turn to Tanguy Ndombele over Giovani Lo Celso.

The £27m-rated Argentine doesn’t seem like the best partner for the great Dane, at least compared to the relationship the Frenchman struck up with him earlier in the season.

Both of them, along with Alli, should help fill the likely void left behind by Bale.

The defence pretty much selects itself with Davies absent.

Mason is yet to turn to summer signing Joe Rodon, so Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld are likely to remain in the heart of defence, along with Sergio Reguilon.

But they could be joined by Serge Aurier in the third and final change, as the Ivory Coast international has been back in training this week following his surprise absence on Sunday.

He’ll replace Japhet Tanganga at right-back.

Ismaila Soro has been dismissed as ‘not good enough’ to succeed Scott Brown at Celtic.

Hoops great Charlie Nicholas issued the verdict in his brutal Daily Express column (via the Daily Record).

Nicholas made 209 appearances over the course of two spells in Glasgow, scoring 125 goals and winning two Scottish titles, so he knows a thing or two about what it takes to meet the level required at Parkhead.

‘Soro can’t anchor the midfield like Brown’

Captain Scott Brown is leaving Parkhead this summer after a 14-year stint.

And while Nicholas, earlier in his column, rubbished the notion that Brown was a ‘legend’, he does accept that there will be big shoes to fill.

“What Celtic will have more difficulty replacing is Brown’s personality and leadership qualities in the dressing room,” he claimed.

“Ismaila Soro is not good enough to be regarded as Brown’s successor in the midfield anchor role.”

How has Soro fared at Celtic?

Soro, who joined Celtic in January 2020 for a fee of around £2million, has had limited involvement this season.

Either side of a run of 10 successive league starts between December and February, he’s barely been used (via Transfermarkt).

But the Ivorian nonetheless earned the backing of former Scotland manager Alex McLeish during that short run of form.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly impressed by the 22-year-old, and McLeish said (via Football Insider) there was ‘no doubt’ that Celtic could come to regret sanctioning that move.

Notably, he also expressed certainty that ‘foreign players understand what it means to play for Rangers and Celtic’, indicating that Soro could play with similar passion to Brown.

Transfer Tavern verdict

Nicholas’ comments sound a lot like he’s writing Soro off, which seems unfair – he’s still young, and he’s found opportunities to prove himself hard to come by.

Celtic’s new manager might well see more promise in Soro than his predecessors, and even in the few chances he has been given this season he has shown what he can offer, averaging 1.9 tackles per game, the most of any Hoops player to have appeared more than once (Whoscored).

In other news, Kris Commons slammed two Celtic stars after the woeful defeat at Rangers.

If Sunderland don’t achieve promotion this season, it will cause deep-rooted frustration.

It will create sadness and perhaps an everlasting mindset that the Mackems are destined to see out their existence in the third tier of English football.

This season, however, has been that will go down in the history books. They have new owners, perhaps their most impressive manager in a number of years and they are currently in third place in League One.

The Black Cats have a wonderful opportunity to get promoted and if they secure that in the remaining games of the campaign, it will be the icing on the cake.

This has been a term where Sunderland won their first trophy in 48 years, beating Tranmere at Wembley in the EFL Trophy final a number of weeks ago.

Lee Johnson’s men didn’t have it all their own way in that game and that was largely thanks to flying right-back Otis Khan.

The 25-year-old was a constant thorn in the Sunderland defence, terrorising Callum McFadzean. On that occasion, Khan completed as many as four dribbles, the joint-highest of any player on the day.

The defender also attempted seven crosses and won five of his seven duels defensively. No wonder he’s been described as a player who “works hard” by Keith Hill. Unfortunately for Tranmere and Khan, it was the Mackems who took home the silverware.

Sunderland clearly liked what they saw from Khan because he’s now been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.

It would be a shrewd capture from Johnson and one that could take not only their defence to the next level but also their attack.

With Jordan Jones and Aiden McGeady on the flanks, there is always a reason to be excited heading into a Sunderland match. Both players have created goals and chances at will for Charlie Wyke this term, a man who has found the net on 26 occasions in 2020/21.

The addition of Khan, however, could give him even proper opportunities to score. You only need to look at that performance at Wembley. In delivering just over half a dozen crosses, he was a rampant threat.

He has been transformed from a winger into a full-back at Tranmere and that’s certainly evident in the way Khan gets forward.

The right-sided defender has made 1.4 key passes per game this term and 1.1 successful crosses per match. For context, only Denver Hume and McGeady in the Sunderland side have conjured up more chance creations and crosses.

Both of those players happen to be their weapons down the left. On the opposite side, Sunderland don’t quite have the same potency. The addition of Khan, therefore, could be huge.

The thought of him whipping deliveries in for Wyke to head home is something worth salivating over.
